Recently, I found out about this craft. It looks lovely and the results are also equally lovely.

Xmas tree :-)

Our annual Xmas tree - photo in very poor light..

Sewing together

We did a fun experiment of sewing cushion covers for our pillows that we love using to loll around.
The joy of sewing together was the reward that we received. The incomplete version's pic is posted above. The tools on the right....no sewing machine yet so we were sewing by hand. :-)

Crochet scarf

Crocheted a scarf for DH. Used a N hook to finish it off very fast. It was well used during December nights in Balboa Park, San Diego. :-)

Crochet slippers

I made these slippers using a pattern I found on the web.

Crochet

I started crocheting some months ago. My brother and sis-in-law were expecting their first baby.
So these are the things I made for her and baby. The big blue thing is my first project - a poncho for dear sis-in-law. The doll for baby but my parents liked it and now they have it. :-) Baby will get one when she gets a little older. Baby booties in blue. Some flower appliques in case they want to use them somewhere.

Danish woven paper hearts

These Danish hearts are one of my favourite projects. Here is a picture of two heart baskets I had made many months ago. Next to the hearts are paper 3d stars made from glitter paper.

http://permo.homepage.dk/xmsheart.htm is a very nice site with detailed tutorials on how to weave Danish paper hearts (heart baskets, actually).
As I understand from the site, woven paper hearts are a traditional craft of Denmark.

Use a softer paper for making them or else the paper will tear by the time you reach the end of the heart. First try a simple heart with newspaper to get a feel of how it is to be done so you don’t waste your good paper.
I tried these hearts with something called felt paper/velvet paper (it is a very thin layer of felt stuck on paper).
We could also use felt for making these hearts – felt will not tear like paper, so that should be good.

Paper Lantern
